Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech

We start our private tour by picking you up in Casablanca. One of the cities we will visit is Rabat, the capital where you will have a guiding tour. Then we will go to Meknes and do some short visits to the ruins of Volubilis. The last place we are going to be, is Fes, where you will have a night in a traditional Moroccan riad or hotel and dinner will be provided.

In this post, we will delve into Fes, particularly the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and the Royal Palace, which is the biggest in the region of Morocco. Following this, we will be making our way to Ifrane, often referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” which will allow us to see the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be at Azrou, a Berber village located in a well-known cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary macaques. After a traditional meal at a Midelt restaurant, we will then move on through Tizi Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorges, while making a few stops to enjoy the breathtaking views from miles away. Our route meanders through picturesque Berber settlements to Erfoud and Rissani, which eventually brings us to Merzouga. Camel rides into the dunes are launched from here, and you can look forward to a night at a camp under the stars if you wish.

Greet the morning with a mesmerizing sunrise in the desert and a stroll over the dunes. After having breakfast, we will be heading to Rissani's marketplace (which is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) and then to Erfoud, where you can check out the fossilized marble production. From there, we will go to Todgha Gorge, which is the highest and the narrowest canyon in the whole of Morocco, and there you will be able to have lunch and take a stroll to appreciate the beautiful landscape. Later in the day, we will accomplish Dades Valley and spend the night in Boumalne Dades.

After breakfast, we will go through Dades Valley and then drive along the Valley of Roses passing the palm groves of Skoura. The road that leads to the kasbahs is known as the "One Thousand Kasbahs" route, where you can enjoy 17th-century kasbahs. One of the things we will do in Ouarzazate is lunch, however, we will also visit the cinema studios and museum if we have time. Later in the evening we will reach Marrakech and will take you to your hotel. Our 4-day Algeria Sahara camel trek that went from Casablanca to Marrakech has finally come to an end.
